Boomtown Days is a three-day festival featuring music, food, and activities for the whole family. Boomtown Days attracts over 40,000 visitors to a nightly concert, an extensive children's activities area, carnival rides and all of your favorite festival food. Boomtown Days has something for everyone! Thursday headliner is Joplin, MO's own Never Shout Never, Friday headliner is country star Darryl Worley featuring military tribute day, and Saturday will feature southern rockers 38 special. FAQ’s

If I’m disabled, where do I park for handicap access?

A handicap parking lot will be available along Murphy Blvd. near the Amphitheatre in Landreth Park. You may access the parking lot using the northern entrance to Murphy Blvd. near Ozark Christian College.

What are the hours of operation for the festival?

Thursday 3:00pm-11:00pm, Friday 3:0pm-11:00pm, Saturday 10:00am-11:00pm.

How do I get VIP bands for the concerts?

Contact Ginger LaMar at 417.624.4150 or email her at glamar@joplinc.cc.com for details.  VIP “Glow in the Dark” Boomer Bands are available for $25.00 each and include access to reserved seating in the Home Pro VIP Chalet and a VIP Parking Pass for all three concert nights as well as admission to the festival for all three days.  The VIP Chalet will allow you to enjoy a relaxed beach theme and dig your toes in the sand, while watching the concerts.

  • Purchase in advance at the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce or at any festival gate
  • Positioned 220 feet from center stage of the Boomtown Amphitheater
  • The VIP Chalet also sets right beside the Daybreak Rotary Beer Garden

What are the rules for the beer garden?

Anyone attending the beer garden must be 21 years of age or older and must present a valid State issued driver’s license at the door. Any alcohol purchased at the beer garden must remain inside the designated area.  See FESTIVAL RULES.

Can I bring my own cooler into the festival?

Personal coolers will not be allowed on festival grounds (unless used for infant supplies or medical/diabetic reasons).  Any coolers found on festival grounds are subject to search and request for removal by festival staff/security. See FESTIVAL RULES.

Can I drop my kids off and pick them up later?

While there is no festival rule prohibiting this, the staff and security of Boomtown Days strongly advise against doing so.  Boomtown Days strives to achieve an environment that is safe and family friendly but we encourage parental supervision at all times due to the large number of activities and people in attendance at the festival.

What happens if my child gets lost?

Kid’s Information tent is where children/parents will be brought to.  Should the situation warrant, the Command Center will order the closing of all gates and not allow people in or out until the child has been located.  Kids wrist bands are available at the kid’s information tent for parents to write their name/phone # – optional.

Where do I go if I want to be in McCready’s Boomtown Idol?

With categories for kids, teens and adults, the Boomtown Idol Contest will be happening on Saturday.  The adult category winner will sing on the Main Stage before our Saturday night bands! Who puts on the Boomtown Days Festival?

Boomtown Days is organized by an executive committee of volunteers comprised of leaders in the community with a dedication and willingness to further enhance the quality of activities in our community and the surrounding areas. For more information see the ABOUT US page.

How is the festival paid for?

Boomtown Days is primarily funded through corporate sponsorships and generates revenue through the sale of Boomer Bands at admission gates. The festival also receives additional funding through a tourism grant offered by the Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Is camping available at Landreth Park during festival?

There is no camping allowed in Landreth Park.  For information on campgrounds in Joplin call 800.657.2534 or log on to www.visitjoplinmo.com.

What if I need a place to stay?

Hilton Garden Inn is the official Host Hotel for Boomtown Days – www.boomtowndays.com for rates.

Where do I go if I’ve lost something?

Festival information tents will serve as stations for the Lost and Found.  You may locate the tents using the festival map.

What is included with the cost of admission?

Admission price covers entrance into the festival and all children’s activities, carnival, concerts and live entertainment.  Food and merchandise are not included in the admission price.

Can I be in festival grounds without an admission pass (Boomer Band)?

All those entering festival grounds must do so through an official gate which requires the purchase of a pass.  Those without a pass or those not entering through an official gate will be escorted from the festival grounds. See FESTIVAL RULES.

Where can I pre-buy Boomer Band?

Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, Joplin Globe, Rib Crib and all Fletcher Auto Locations or on-line.  On-line tickets – Patrons who purchased online tickets must enter through the Hobart Design Group gate or the Empire Gate

Do I have to buy a new pass (Boomer Band) each day?

One day passes are available. However, if you are planning on attending for more than one day, weekend passes will be available also.  If you purchase a one day pass and decide you would rather have a weekend pass, you may upgrade at the gate by paying the difference.  If you have lost or forgotten your pass, you will be required to purchase a new one in order to remain on festival grounds.

 Do I have to buy a pass (Boomer Band) for my kids too?

Yes, all children over the age of 1 are required to have a pass to be admitted to the festival and to participate in activities. Children under the age of 1 are not required to have a pass to gain admission to the festival but without a pass they will not be allowed to participate in activities such as face painting, petting zoo etc.

What if I purchased by Boomer Band in June?

Boomer Bands and online tickets that were purchased for the original June 2011 dates will be honored for the August Boomtown Days dates.

Can I smoke on festival grounds?

Smoking is allowed in designated areas ONLY due to extremely flammable propellants or materials in use by vendors, food service areas, generators, automobiles, specialized rides, Gator-type vehicles and other equipment/personnel.  See FESTIVAL RULES.

 Can I bring alcohol to the concert?

Any alcohol must be purchased in the beer garden and must remain in the designated beer garden area.   NO outside alcohol is allowed. Any coolers or containers found are subject for search and request for removal by festival staff/security.  See FESTIVAL RULES.

Who do I notify if I need help?

There will be police officers on duty at the festival to assist you in emergency situations.  For non- emergency situations you may ask for assistance from any of the festival staff or inquire at the Volunteer/Information booth.

Does parking cost anything?

Festival parking does not cost anything.  You must stay in designated areas. See FESTIVAL RULES.

Will there be a shuttle running to the festival?

There is a shuttle service running from OCC parking lot to the Empire gate, entire festival hours.

There are 2 golf cart shuttle services running during festival hours.

Can I bring my pets to the festival?

Pets are allowed on festival grounds but they must be on a leash.  Person(s) owning or bringing any pets on the premises must clean up and properly dispose of pet refuse. See FESTIVAL RULES.

Can I bring lawn chairs in for the concert?

Yes.  All Attendees are permitted to bring in lawn chairs, strollers and blankets. See FESTIVAL RULES.

What time does everything start?

Festival Hours are as follows:  Thursday 3:00pm-11:00pm, Friday 3:00am-11:00pm, Saturday 10:00am-11:00pm.  See SCHEDULE page for details on special events and concert

 What happens if someone gets hurt?

First Aid Tent – provided by Crowder College Nursing Students will be located by the Main Information tent, for minor issues.  METS and Joplin Fire Department will be onsite during peak times over the weekend.

Is there security at the park?

Joplin Police Department will be on festival grounds during the event providing safety and security, emergency plans for weather and lost and found children.
