This year we have added an exciting event for all you chili lovers out there… the 1st Annual Boomtown Days Chili Challenge, held Saturday June 12, 2010. We are hoping for a great event and look forward to making this an annual cook-off during the Boomtown Days Festival event.
This year there will be two (2) chili divisions (CASI & Homestyle), a salsa contest, and a hot wing contest. We will also have a special “FIRE” chili division for any team comprised of members who are current fire fighters for a local municipal or volunteer fire department. Our contest is sanctioned by Chili Appreciation Society International, Inc. (CASI). The CASI (competition) division will follow the rules and regulations set forth by CASI. You can access complete C.A.S.I. rules and regulations at www.casi.org . The Home-style division, which includes “filler.” “If you call it chili we will judge it.” There will also be two fun divisions for salsa and wings.
To enter, please DOWNLOAD A REGISTRATION PACKET. You will find a registration form, a rules sheet, a map of the event site and information on all the Boomtown Days Festival events. If you have an “RV” or larger vehicle/trailer that will impact our parking, please indicate it on your registration form.
All proceeds from this year’s contest will go to support Community Support Services and Challenger Sports, Inc. Both of these organizations are local non for profits that provide all types of special services for children with developmental disabilities. Please help support their cause.
