Do you have a chili recipe that you think can’t be beat? Boomtown Days is teaming up to offer a sanctioned chili cookoff with the 2nd Annual Boomtown Days Chili Challenge!! Not only are you invited to participate in the Boomtown Days Chili Challenge, but you will find a vast amount of special activities, music events, kid’s games and family fun throughout the entire weekend!!
Download the registration and information packet here for the 2011 Boomtown Days Chili Challenge. This year’s date is June 11, 2011. We are hoping for a great event and look forward to making this an annual cook-off during the Boomtown Days Festival event.
This year there will be two (2) chili divisions (CASI & Homestyle), a salsa contest, and a hot wing contest. We will also have a special “FIRE” chili division for any team comprised of members who are current fire fighters for a local municipal or volunteer fire department. Our contest is sanctioned by Chili Appreciation Society International, Inc. (CASI). The CASI (competition) division will follow the rules and regulations set forth by CASI. You can access complete C.A.S.I. rules and regulations at www.casi.org . The Home-style division, which includes “filler.” “If you call it chili we will judge it.” There will also be two fun divisions for salsa and wings.
All proceeds from this year’s contest will go to support Community Support Services and Challenger Sports, Inc. Both of these organizations are local non for profits that provide all types of special services for children with developmental disabilities. Please help support their cause.
